Gasherbrum II is the thirteenth-highest mountain in the world and often considered one of the more accessible 8,000m peaks in the Karakoram, though it remains a serious high-altitude undertaking.
Gasherbrum II is often chosen as a first Pakistani 8,000m objective because the standard route is less technically sustained than its neighbours. The logistics, however, are identical to any Baltoro expedition, and we run them end to end: permits, transport, porters, base camp and staff coordination.
Access & Approach
Teams travel Islamabad to Skardu, then by jeep to Askole, followed by the Baltoro Glacier walk-in through Paiju, Urdukas and Concordia to the Gasherbrum base camp area. The approach takes roughly a week and is fully porter-supported.
Expedition History
Gasherbrum II was first climbed in 1956 by an Austrian expedition, with Fritz Moravec, Josef Larch and Hans Willenpart reaching the summit.
