Terms and conditions:
These terms cover how journeys are quoted, confirmed and operated, and what is expected of both sides when travelling in remote mountain terrain.
Who you are contracting with
Journeys presented on HindukushTours.com are operated by Chaqon Global Tours, a registered Pakistani tour operator (SECP CUIN 0304821, FBR NTN H298994, DTS licence PR 6331). References to "we" and "us" in these terms mean that company.
Enquiries and quotations
An enquiry is not a booking. We respond with a written itinerary and quotation based on your dates, group size and requirements. Prices remain valid for the period stated in that quotation and may change if dates, group size, permit fees or transport costs change.
Confirmation and payment
A booking is confirmed when you accept the written itinerary and pay the deposit stated in your quotation. Balance payment terms, accepted payment methods and any permit deposits required by the authorities are set out in the same document.
Cancellation and changes
Cancellation charges depend on how far in advance you cancel and on non-refundable costs already committed on your behalf, such as expedition permits, internal flights and porter advances. The exact schedule applying to your journey is stated in your confirmation. We will always tell you which costs are recoverable before you commit.
Itinerary variations
Mountain travel in Chitral and the Karakoram is subject to weather, road conditions, landslides, flight availability on the Chitral sector, river levels and permit decisions. We reserve the right to vary routes, accommodation and schedules where required for safety or feasibility, and will always seek the closest reasonable alternative.
Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory on every trek and expedition. Cover must include high-altitude trekking or mountaineering to the maximum elevation of your itinerary, emergency medical treatment, helicopter evacuation and repatriation. We may ask for your policy details before departure.
Acceptance of mountain risk
Trekking and expedition travel in remote high-altitude terrain carries inherent risks including altitude illness, rockfall, glacier hazards, river crossings and long distances from medical facilities. By booking you accept these risks and confirm that you have disclosed relevant medical conditions and are suitably prepared for the itinerary chosen.
Permits and documentation
You are responsible for holding a valid passport and Pakistani visa. We arrange the trekking, expedition and restricted-area permits that fall within our scope and will advise you of the documents and lead time required. Permit decisions rest with the issuing authorities.
Responsible conduct
Guests are expected to follow guide instructions on safety matters and to respect local customs, particularly in the Kalash valleys and in remote villages. We may end participation without refund where behaviour endangers the group or seriously disregards local communities.
Complaints
If something is not right during your journey, tell your guide or our office immediately so it can be addressed on the ground. Unresolved matters should be sent in writing to the email address below within 28 days of your return.
