Broad Peak, the twelfth-highest mountain in the world, is located along the Baltoro Glacier, just a few kilometers from K2. It offers a significant 8,000m objective in the heart of the Karakoram.
Because base camp sits on the Godwin-Austen Glacier close to K2 base camp, Broad Peak shares the same logistics chain: the Skardu staging, the Askole road-head, and the long porter-supported walk-in along the Baltoro. We coordinate that chain, from permits and liaison arrangements to base camp catering and communications support.
Access & Approach
The route in runs Islamabad to Skardu, Skardu to Askole by jeep, then six to seven trekking days along the Baltoro Glacier through Paiju, Urdukas and Concordia to base camp. Return follows the same corridor, with helicopter evacuation available in emergencies subject to weather and clearance.
Expedition History
Broad Peak was first climbed in 1957 by an Austrian team, with Hermann Buhl, Kurt Diemberger, Marcus Schmuck and Fritz Wintersteller reaching the summit without high-altitude porters or supplementary oxygen.
