High-Altitude Climbing in Chitral | Istor-o-Nal 7,403m
Istor-o-Nal belongs to one of the great high-altitude mountain groups of the Hindu Kush. Its remote setting, glacier approach and expedition history make it an objective for experienced climbing teams rather than a conventional trekking journey.
Our role is to help teams organize the ground operation from Chitral around their own climbing strategy, staffing requirements, equipment and schedule.

Approaching Istor-o-Nal from Chitral
Expedition access is organized through the Chitral Hindu Kush and the Terich Valley mountain system. Final road transport, trekking stages, camp locations and load arrangements must be confirmed according to the team’s objective and current local conditions.
LOGISTICAL NOTE: Current road access, expedition procedures and permit requirements must be reconfirmed before travel.
A Complicated Summit Story
The exploration of Istor-o-Nal's massif has a nuanced history. A Princeton Mountaineering Club expedition in 1955 believed they had reached the main summit, but subsequent examination of the massif's topography revealed the true highest point remained untouched. It was not until the 1969 Spanish expedition led by José Manuel Anglada that the true main summit was successfully reached.

FIELD RECORDS
